Pakistan Denounces Indian Accusations and False Reports Amid Regional Tensions

Published:

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has dismissed recent Indian claims alleging Pakistani involvement in recent events in Bangladesh.

During a weekly media briefing in Islamabad today, Baloch criticized India’s repeated tendency to blame Pakistan for its domestic and foreign policy shortcomings. She described these accusations as reflecting India’s troubling fixation on Pakistan.

Baloch emphasized that Pakistan and Bangladesh have maintained and strengthened positive relations over recent years. She expressed Pakistan’s support and solidarity with the Bangladeshi people, hoping for a swift and peaceful resolution to the current situation. Baloch expressed confidence in the resilience and unity of the Bangladeshi people to lead them toward a harmonious future.

In response to another query, the Spokesperson confirmed that Pakistan’s High Commissioner attended the inauguration of Bangladesh’s new Prime Minister.

Addressing another issue, Baloch rejected claims by former Indian law enforcement officials blaming Pakistan for increased attacks in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. She criticized the Indian authorities and media for routinely attributing any negative events to Pakistan and urged them to address the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. She called for action in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions to determine the region’s future through an impartial plebiscite.

Baloch also categorically denied a report from the Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post, which alleged that Pakistan plans to supply Iran with Shaheen-III ballistic missiles if the Iran-Israel conflict escalates. She condemned the report as false and emphasized the importance of avoiding the spread of misinformation during this critical period in the Middle East.
